In order to access the a wide range of LLMs and manage agentic workflow, download the Visual Studio Code Insider Edition.
It is important that you download the Visual Studio Code INSIDER Edition. Do not worry if you already have the Visual Studio Code standard edition. You can have of these installed on your computer without interfering with each other.
Step 1: Visit the Agent Developer Productivity Page

Click on Download VS Code Insider
Step 3: Access Github Co-pilot PRO
If you are a Student and still at University, follow the steps as a Student and Apply for Education Benefits.
Select
- Student role
- Search for your University name
- You will also need to make sure you have your University email added. you can click on "Add it here" to add your University email. Once you are verified, come back to this page and complete this.
You will then be asked to provide your Student ID Card, and other details to verify yourself. You may also need to turn on location on your browser to verify that you are in the same city as your selected University.
Once you have completed your submission, it can take several days before your application will be approved. So check back in a few days.

Step 4: Learn about Agent Mode

Step 5: Learn about Claude Sonnet 4.5
